How do I look after my jewellery?
Many factors can influence the wear and tear of jewellery. Therefore you should make sure that your jewellery is properly cleaned and stored. Always protect your jewellery from sharp blows, scratching, chemicals, sunlight and heat/cold to minimise these effects. Ideally, store your jewellery in a soft lined box or pouch and try to keep pieces apart, so that they don’t rub together or tangle up.
Care of Silver
Like all jewellery, avoid wearing silver in chlorinated water. This will discolour it. Also make sure that silver is stored away from excessive light and air as these can further tarnish the jewellery. Keep the silver in a dark, cool and dry place.
Care of pearls
Pearls like to be worn and improve with age, the natural oils of the skin moisturising them. Do not spray perfume directly onto your pearls, make sure they’re the last item you reach for when putting on your gladrags! Keep them clean by buffing gently with a soft cloth now and again and ideally, store them in the gift pouch they arrive in. As with silver, do not wear pearls in chlorinated water.
